Florida Consulting

Consultant

ROLE OVERVIEW

The Consultant is Florida’s first fully independent delivery role. You will own end-to-end workstreams within complex client engagements — from scoping and research through analysis, synthesis, and presentation of findings. Operating within one or more of Florida’s six verticals, you will work directly with clients, manage junior team members, and contribute actively to Florida’s knowledge and business development assets.
You are expected to bring domain confidence, structured thinking, and the ability to navigate ambiguity on the ground. You will have access to Florida’s IP frameworks and will be expected to apply, stress-test, and enrich them through project delivery.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Own and deliver specific project workstreams independently, from inception to final output
  • Conduct advanced primary and secondary research, stakeholder consultations, and field assessments
  • Develop high-quality client-facing outputs: reports, strategy documents, policy briefs, feasibility studies, and presentations
  • Engage directly with clients, government officials, and institutional partners in meetings and workshops
  • Present findings and recommendations confidently to senior client representatives
  • Support Managers in project planning, scoping, and timeline management
  • Guide, assign work to, and review outputs from Analysts and Associate Consultants on the team
  • Contribute to proposal development, concept notes, and expressions of interest
  • Participate in IP development by contributing to Florida’s proprietary frameworks, sector briefs, and knowledge repositories
  • Proactively identify risks, gaps, and opportunities within project engagements

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • 3–5 years of experience in consulting, development sector, government advisory, research institutions, or relevant industry roles
  • Demonstrated ability to independently manage and deliver project workstreams
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with comfort handling quantitative and qualitative data
  • Excellent written and verbal communication — ability to draft polished, client-ready documents independently
  • Prior exposure to at least one of: sustainability/ESG, MSME development, infrastructure, investment facilitation, digital transformation, or public policy
  • Confidence in client-facing roles — meetings, workshops, presentations
  • Experience guiding or mentoring junior team members
  • Proficiency in MS Office; familiarity with data tools (Power BI, Excel modelling, SPSS, etc.) preferred
  • Strong professional values: integrity, accountability, and commitment to impact
